DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Installs new equipment, repairs and modifies existing equipment.
Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors and programmable controllers.
Maintains accurate communication to other maintenance mechanics and departments.
Assists with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building.
Understands basic hydraulic troubleshooting.
Performs welding (basic) on equipment (TIG, Arc, Oxyacetene).
Understands basic PLC systems.
Supports other maintenance mechanics and operator’s basic functions of machinery and equipment.
Effectively uses electrical testing equipment.
Responsible to identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate those to supervisor or lead person.
Initiates and assists maintenance in completion of work orders by self.
Initiates and conducts routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision.
Assists in the investigation in areas of cost reduction method improvement, quality improvement, yield control and provides suggestions.
Possesses the ability to perform “back up” lead duties when needed.
Maintain shop 6S policies and cleanliness.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations
Ability to pass a Prove It test
Ability to read and comprehend documents and schematics
Five years in maintenance field preferred.
Excellent communication skills
Have the ability to work with minimal or no direct supervision
Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems
Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical procedures.
Flexibility to work weekends
