Position: Network Specialist

Location: St Cloud, MN

Duration: 6 Months (possible extension)

Business Need:
  • The Information Technology Division (ITD) of the client, located at the Minnesota, is seeking one (1)- Judicial Network Specialist II
  • Providing technical support and administration of multi-site network components.
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service when responding to IT Service Desk tickets, telephone calls and emails.
  • Identifying, evaluating, prioritizing and resolving a wide variety of IT hardware, software, and operational issues and technical problems.
  • Providing personalized training on the use of court applications in person, over the phone and via the service desk application.
  • Promoting standardization of workstation images and equipment, software applications and versions, storage and backup, documentation, LAN/WAN, printer setup, person and shared drive setup, naming conventions, etc.

Project Deliverables: The Judicial Network Specialist II will be filling a role outside of project work and will help support the understaffed sites IT team. The candidate will be responsible for :
  • Oversight of the ticket queue
  • Assisting in the Jury Kiosk project
  • Closet cleanup
  • Deploying Liberty machines in courtrooms
  • Aiding with the setup of new courtrooms
  • Deploying new AV VLANs on the AV equipment
  • Resolving iBoot issues in multiple counties
  • Assisting in staff calendar migration for multiple counties
  • Setting up LDAP on Konicas as well as support the Streamline install
  • Supporting the new Ricoh printers that will be deployed District wide
  • Assisting in the Jury Check-in project
  • Adding additional WAPs to locations in need
  • VoIP deployment in multiple counties
  • Assisting with training videos for the District.
  • Other end-user support duties as assigned by the contract manger.
  • Attending and/or facilitating meetings and providing updates and reports to the contract manager and other Judicial Branch leadership will also be required.
  • In addition to the above deliverables, the selected candidate will need to maintain all necessary communications between team members, the Division leaders and other State leadership, as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in MIS/Computer Science with one year relevant experience in IT, or Technical School certificate and three years relevant experience in IT.

Required Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of software including Microsoft Operating Systems and products that include Microsoft Windows 10, and Windows Server2012R2, Server2016, Microsoft Office 365, and SharePoint 2019 and hardware including Client and Cisco products.
  • Knowledge in the area of Network Security, Exchange, Active Directory, Windows Cluster environments.
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex system hardware, software or networking related problems.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate the deployment of new technology and resolve technical problems individually and as a project participant or technical lead.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to translate technical terminology into terms understandable to non-technical employees.
