Only one position will be filled; the final class and starting salary of this position is dependent on the successful applicant's qualifications.This position is located at Waters Edge in Roseville, MN. The incumbent will have the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid schedule. The incumbent will be required to report onsite Tuesday and Wednesday each week. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.This position is the liaison for all traffic engineering concerns for internal and external customers in the North Area. This includes providing traffic engineering expertise for project scoping, layout development and review, corridor studies, and other tasks as needed for program delivery including meeting with internal MnDOT contacts and external customers such as cities, counties, engineering consultants, the public, and the FHWA. This position is also responsible for identifying and programming North Area trunk highways safety projects.In addition, this position will act as the key expert for one of the following additional duties: Tort Claims, Speed Zoning, Crash Analysis, or Safety Projects for the Metro Area.The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.Minimum QualificationsMinimum Qualifications for Engineer Senior:

Licensure as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID). (If obtaining licensure through Comity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)

Minimum Qualification for Engineer 2 Graduate:To qualify for Engineer 2 Graduate, applicants must meet all the following:

A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.

A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

Two years post-graduation civil engineering work.

Education :

A Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university substitutes for one year of post-graduate civil engineering work.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Traffic Engineering principles and practices.

Experience attending and presenting at public and council meetings.

Experience on project technical advisory committees.

Knowledge of crash analysis and ICE reports.

A valid Class D Driver's License.

If advanced to the finalist pool, in addition to the preceding minimum and preferred qualifications you will be assessed on additional criteria during a job interview including:

Communication skills sufficient to communicate information and provide training clearly and concisely to customers and stakeholders including occasional direct contact with the public as well as evening meeting presentations.

Interpersonal skills sufficient to build and maintain constructive relationships, resolve conflicts, and negotiate and build consensus with internal and external partners.
