Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in New Brighton, Minnesota. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be tasked with managing and executing various aspects of payroll processing, including full cycle payroll, union reporting, and payroll tax compliance. You will be working within the service industry, and your role will be crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of our payroll system.Responsibilities: Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing, which includes data entry, reviewing timesheets, calculating wages, and issuing payments. Handle payroll adjustments, deductions, and withholdings for accuracy. Maintain up-to-date employee payroll records, including salary changes, benefits, and other relevant information. Work closely with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data. Prepare reports for union requirements, including union dues, pension contributions, and other mandated deductions. Manage all aspects of payroll tax compliance, including accurate and timely filing of federal, state, and local payroll tax returns. Stay updated on payroll tax laws, regulations, and changes to ensure compliance with applicable requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvement, streamlining payroll procedures, and enhancing payroll system functionality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement payroll-related system upgrades and enhancements. Prepare payroll reports and metrics for management and other stakeholders. Analyze payroll data to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role Proficiency in payroll software and systems Experience with multi-state payroll processing Familiarity with both in-house and union payroll processing Solid understanding of payroll taxes and payroll tax reporting Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Knowledge of federal and state regulations concerning payroll and payroll taxes Relevant certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) would be an advantage.
