As a core member of the Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) team supporting Enterprise Engineering, you will have responsibility for the planning and execution of value engineering projects that drive cost improvements across the entire portfolio of Medtronic products. You will be at the forefront of Medtronic’s Mission to Alleviate Pain, Restore Health, and Extend Life by improving our capability to deliver life-saving products and support new product innovation.Preference for this role to be hybrid based at a Manufacturing facility.You can grow your career with us; we hope you’ll consider joining our team!A Day in the Life Manage one or more value creation projects from detailed planning through execution and closure Leads cross functional teams including design, quality, operations, category managements to ensure successful completion of projects and business goals Develop, communicate, and document project strategies and plans including budget, detailed schedule creation/maintenance, and KPIs Provide input to establishing program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets Ensure projects remain aligned with the project plan by addressing any resource conflicts and problems as they emerge Facilitate project team meetings: prepare agenda, facilitate discussion during meeting, take and distribute meeting minutes Track project spending by providing monthly forecasts on upcoming spending; forecast resource and skill set needs for the project and participate in resourcing discussions/negotiation Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives Demonstrate business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources Establish a measurement and reporting framework to review and report project progress with key stakeholders Use appropriate project management tools, communicate plans and risk management techniques to create rigor in project planning and execution Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison across cross-functional teams Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports Monitors the project from initiation through delivery Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and suppliers Travel requirement: less than 25%Must Haves Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of business process and/or project management experience OR advanced degree and 3+ years of business process and/or project management experienceNice to Have Advanced degree Extensive experience leading projects/programs including financial accountability including strong preference for PMP certification Financial management skills Medical Device industry experience Demonstrated strong business acumen and planning experience Strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening (with all levels of the organization) Strong problem-solving skills Ability to influence business leaders, stakeholders and individual contributors MS Project software experienceAbout MedtronicTogether, we can change healthcare worldwide.
