Job Title: Prepress OperatorJob DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled Prepress Operator with specific experience in PrePress and Plate Making to join our envelope printing team. The position is located in Shakopee, MN, and offers a chance to work in a friendly and respectful environment. The role involves working on a Macintosh desktop publishing system and utilizing Adobe Creative Suite. The available shifts are 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM Monday - Thursday or 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM Sunday - Thursday.Responsibilities
Prepare and process files for printing, ensuring they meet the required specifications utilizing a Macintosh desktop publishing system.
Utilize Adobe Creative Suite to manipulate graphics and layouts as needed.
Apply color management techniques to achieve accurate color reproduction.
Operate plate maker to create plates for offset and flexographic printing.
Mount flexographic plates.
Conduct quality control checks on plates before they are sent to press.
Collaborate with account managers to troubleshoot any design-related issues prior to production.
Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and organized manner.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in prepress processes, including file preparation and plate making.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and file management software.
Experience with flexographic and offset plate making preferred.
Conventional or basic electronic prepress experience preferred.
Familiarity with color management principles in print production.
Attention to detail with a focus on quality control throughout the production process.
Ability to work collaboratively within tight deadlines while maintaining a high degree of quality and professionalism.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
1 year of printing experience.
Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
Ability to read a ruler.
Ability to communicate and write in English.
Previous printing experience is a bonus.
