Join the talented, engaged and inclusive workforce dedicated to creating a better Minnesota.Tele work may be considered with a tele work agreement.The purpose of this position is to 1) lead ongoing efforts to develop updated public engagement policy/guidance documents; document best-practices and guidelines and coordinate the sharing of public engagement information and learnings across MnDOT in order for agency staff to effectively involve the public and stakeholders in transportation decision-making and engagement activities; 2) serve as a MnDOT public engagement resource to district and office planning, public engagement and project management staff to assist in the coordination, development and delivery of public engagement plans, training and education in order to increase staff knowledge and skills to effectively engage multiple audiences in transportation planning and decisions.MnDOT does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.Minimum QualificationsTwo years of advanced professional experience in the areas noted below:Bachelors or Master’s degree in Planning, Political Science, Sociology, Public Relations, Communications, or Community Organizing will substitute for 6 months of experience.

Experience in building and maintaining working relationships with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders

Experience in leading, informing, analyzing, and measuring public participation activities

Project management experience in public engagement, education and outreach, and/or marketing communications

Experience in communicating technical information and complex processes in simple terms

Experience creating accessible presentation and educational materials for multiple audiences

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, InDesign, etc.) sufficient to create public engagement tools and training documents, such as brochures, reports, presentations and web content.
