Part-Time Food Science R&D TechnicianJob Description:Technician will assist in the development of new and improved products and packages. The individual is responsible for providing technical support and project work in laboratory, pilot plant, and plant environments.Job Description:

Support, implement, and maintain food safety practices.

Requests come in from the business and this team executes on those projects. They typically involve one of four categories: Flavor, Pilot Plant Studies, Front End Formulation/Product Development work, or new product start ups.

Evaluate raw material changes, nutritional content, food safety/claims, cost, and production optimizations for these projects.

Participates in the development, scale-up and production of new and improved products, packages or test lot materials: formulation and test kitchen studies.

Operates laboratory equipment in a consistent and accurate manner according to approved methods: Blending, Mixing, Scales, Wet Chemistry, Sugar/Fat/Salt Content.

Understands and complies with all food safety and food manufacturing policies and procedures: Adhere to GMP, Food Safety, and quality claims and documentation standards.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Food Science or Related

1yr+ of Food Product Development/Formulation (Can be from Academic or Industry Projects)

Exposure to Pilot Plant or Food Plant environment
