We a re seeking a Release Training Engineer to join our Blue Buffalo MarTech team and report to the MarTech Leader . In this role, you will work cross-functionally to oversee and ensure teams are tracking to BLUE objectives in support of the evolution of BLUE's Experience Platform, enabling new and differentiated consumer (Pet Parent) experiences. As the Release Training Engineer, you will leverage your knowledge in Agile delivery to guide and coach team members, drive process improvements, and realize program milestones, helping BLUE advance on its vision to be there for consumers (Pet Parents) across all the moments that matter.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead & Orchestrate:
  • Manage program level coordination, such as creating timelines, milestones, and cadence of increments and releases and oversee the development of reports and analyses that document program activity
  • Partner with Scrum of Scrums to lead PI planning efforts
  • Ensure teams are tracking to PI objectives and progressing against release schedules
  • Communicate and collaborate with product management, product ownership, and stakeholders to guarantee alignment of strategy and execution
  • Provide updates during Experience Leadership team regarding program and/or experience milestones, issues and dependencies
  • Drive continuous delivery for Buddies (mobile experience) and Platforms while managing risk, and escalating issues
  • Track features and capabilities through delivery across all product teams
  • Understand, visualize, and manage upstream/downstream dependencies
  • Ensure teams responsible follow through on Retrospective action items
  • Establish sustainable pace - plan team capacity and sprint velocity targets
  • Own and drive process improvement roadmaps; working across teams to communicate areas of improvement, implement and aid in adoption across teams

Coach & Champion
  • Commitment to staying current with agile practices and emerging themes in the agile community
  • Coaching and education of the agile framework across leaders, teams and scrum masters
  • Serve as a champion for Agile methodologies and tools across BLUE

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field

    OR HS Diploma and/or equivalent Education/Experience5+ years of Technical Project Management experience and/or as a scrum master with demonstrated experience working and coaching teams in agile rhythms and methodologies
  • Demonstrated Release Train Engineer experience in large scale from planning through delivery
  • Experience working in agile rhythms and coaching teams in agile methodologies
  • Comfortable with SAFE framework or equivalent for product management (e.g., epics, stories, sprint planning, etc.)
  • Experience working in Agile tools (EX: JIRA/Confluence)
  • Adept at working with cross-functional teams (i.e., Experience, Product, Shopper, Customer Service and Finance) and managing dependencies tied to product roadmap
  • Experience in setting and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Strong understanding of omni-channel experience delivery and operations management
  • Experience with Digital Product Management and Marketing Operations
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, tenacity and resilience; ability to self-learn on the fly
  • Must be able to work in an environment with free-roaming companion pets

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects while effectively balancing scope, resourcing, time, and quality
  • Self-starter with ability to clearly communicate and execute against strategic initiatives with minimal oversight
  • Positive attitude, leadership qualities, and flexible team-oriented approach to working with others
  • Experience and/or knowledge of DTC commerce platforms (ex. Shopify, Wix) and knowledge of DTC fulfillment operations
  • Pet enthusiast preferred
