Senior Cyber Security Consultant

Overview:

This role is responsible for leading the strategy and execution of General Mills Cyber Security Enterprise Vulnerability Management Program in at least one of the following areas: Infrastructure Vulnerability Management, Enterprise Application Security and Cloud Vulnerability Management. This will be accomplished by creating and refining security programs to reduce vulnerabilities in our infrastructure, application, and cloud programs. S omeone in this role will be successful by partnering with key stakeholders in Cyber Security Teams and Digital and Technology teams to communicate the risk to GMI. This role must also benchmark broadly and integrate external cyber security perspectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Vulnerability Management, Enterprise Application Security and Cloud Vulnerability Management (30% of time)
  • Develop and refine security program for at least one of the above programs. This will include identifying stakeholders, the scope of work, vulnerablitiy management (from discovery of vulnerability to remediation) and identify metrics and reporting and any other relevant program functions.
  • Communicate strategic direction to peers across Digital Core, Solution Development, DD&A, and Cyber Security
  • Provide mentoring and leadership to other Enterprise Vulnerability team members, ensuring a clear understanding of the strategy and approach, as well as a consistent application of that strategy

Execute Enterprise Vulnerability Management programs (50% of time)
  • Strong expertise in running cyber security programs by identifying the process from discovery to remediation of vulnerabilities and measuring results.
  • Understand the bigger picture in relation to how this will add value to General Mills. Define the business requirements and understand scope of work.
  • Analyze current programs to seek continuous improvement.
  • Provide input to the development and implementation of Enterprise Vulnerability Management strategy and processes for the above programs.
  • Lead interpretation, prioritization and communication of vulnerability results and metrics to key business partners.
  • Lead execution of emergency (e.g. zero day) vulnerability management process including research, coordination of response, and escalation/communication to senior leadership
  • Lead efforts to obtain and maintain specified cyber maturity level.

Partnerships, Benchmarking, and Personal Development (20% of time)
  • Maintain existing and develops new contacts within the candidate's professional network of cyber security peers and leading security consultants/vendors.
  • Continuously develops knowledge of evolving best practices through peer benchmarking, industry events/associations, and educational opportunities.
  • Seek ongoing education and learning about current trends in Cyber Security and the Cloud.
  • Share knowledge and trends within the Cyber Security team to improve General Mills' cyber security awareness.
  • Mentor team members as needed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in MIS, Computer Science or Computer Engineering required; Masters preferred
  • CISSP or equivalent certification required
  • 5+ years applicable experience required
  • Successful track record of positively influencing stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience establishing strong working relationships with business partners.
  • A working knowledge of cyber security, cyber security technology, risk assessment and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries, and influence others.
  • Ability to define and manage internal projects and milestones and demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present risk information to all levels of an organization.
  • Knowledge in tools and techniques used by attackers to gain unauthorized access to systems.
  • Understands how corporations operate in the global economy and is familiar with operational risk concerns for international businesses.
The salary range for this position $103,600-$172,900.
