JOB POSITION: Senior Engineer

LOCATION: 7000 Target Parkway North, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445

DUTIES: Lead the design and development of custom, robust, and scalable software applications and product architecture. Work with product owners to understand requirements, develop application architecture and distill abstract architecture into design. Execute research and proof-of-concept activities. Conduct code, design, and implementation reviews, providing feedback to engineers. Engage in testing and debugging. Collaborate with cross-functional teams engage in construction, automation, and implementation activities, ensuring successful implementation with architectural and operational requirements and best practices met. Triage operational issues, suggest and implement solutions. Lead disaster recovery activities and contribute to disaster recovery planning. Evaluate new technologies, accounting for viability, usability and maintainability. Utilize Java, Spring Boot, Kotlin, Unix scripting, Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana, Kubernetes, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Python, Chef, Ansible, Unix, J2EE, SQL, PL/SQL, C, C, ActionScript, JavaScript, React JS, JSP, ATC, REST, RMI, JavaScript, SOAP, My SQL, DB2, SVN, Apache Tomcat, IntelliJ, Waterfall Model, AWS, MongoDB. Position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance to Minneapolis area Target office, as directed.

REQUIREMENTS: At least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, and at least five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience as a software architect (any title); managing the product lifecycle; triaging infrastructure issues with operational teams; working on proof of concepts; implementing solutions with onsite and offshore teams; and using Java, Spring Boot, Python, Chef, Ansible, AWS, Unix, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. Position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance to Minneapolis-area Target office, as directed.
