Position Overview

This manager position has staff and technology leadership responsibilities for delivering business value by providing secure network connectivity and telecommunications solutions that support the enterprise business operations where and when needed. This includes partnering with the business to align service delivery to our customers across a North American presence supporting the needs of associates, channel partners, and third-party providers spanning multiple office locations and a hybrid compute and work environment.

The manager has a team of technical associates who research, select, design, engineer, maintain, support, and manage 3rd party providers to deliver the network and telecommunications services. This includes: LAN, SDWAN, internet services, cloud PBX, an enterprise cloud contact center platform, WiFi, VPN, and network-based security infrastructure like firewalls. This team is a part of Enterprise Technology's Architecture, Infrastructure & Enterprise Solutions (AIE) foundational unit. We operate using agile techniques and principles, are team oriented, and partner with the business, compliance, privacy, risk, technology and application development areas in a challenging and fast paced environment.

General responsibilities for this position include:

  • Provides overall direction, leadership, and guidance in managing associates.

  • Creates a positive work environment through staffing, training, developing, motivating, counseling, and managing performance of individuals and teams through regular communication and feedback.

  • Fosters a team that is committed to quality, ingenuity, customer focus, respect, diversity, teamwork, continuous improvement, open communications, and delivering business value align with the enterprise strategy.

  • Provides product, budget, and vendor management for infrastructure technologies, processes, and services.

  • Plans and sponsors AIE projects to implement new or upgrade existing technologies, processes, and services.

  • Leads the engineering and 24x7 support results for the infrastructure teams.

  • Contributes AIE and ET department leadership to develop and execute strategies, plans and processes like ITSM.

    What we expect from you:

  • 5+ years demonstrated experience building productive relationships and collaborating with business partners, vendors, industry peers and other stakeholders.

  • Experience directly leading teams, managing 3rd party service providers and vendor partners.

  • Architecture or design experience implementing and operating in a multicloud and hybrid work environment.

  • Staff and project management experience leading teams.

  • Product, budget, and vendor management experience.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Active learner who has awareness of the current industry trends, new practices, techniques, and technologies, and will continuously improve their own and the team's skills and knowledge through internal and external learning.

    This position will be in a hybrid working arrangement

    Physical job requirements:

  • Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 hours per day

  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week

  • Ability to utilize telephone for up to 8 hours per day

  • Ability to perform grasping tasks throughout the entire work day (examples: handwriting, grasping of equipment/machines, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, handling stacks of paper)
