This position serves our partners at the Department of Corrections (DOC). The MNIT DOC team runs many unique applications that manage the information and security of the department, supporting 4,500 employees across 10 prisons and 50 field offices located throughout the state.In collaboration with MNIT DOC lead staff , you will develop, implement, and support services for a range of software solutions to the Department of Corrections (DOC) and the Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) DOC. The scope of responsibilities for this role includes the following key areas: low-code/no-code solutions, commercial hardware/software solutions, and custom application solutions.This position is currently eligible for full-time telework:

Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Only candidates located in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) are telework eligible.

Minimum QualificationsCandidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:Position requires a minimum of two (2) years of IT related experience in Software Development.Experience must include:

Application design, development, support, and maintenance, including hardware and operating systems.

Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and Continuous integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.

Analytical, technical research, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.

Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

A bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for two (2) years of experience, OR an IT or related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.Preferred Qualifications

Ability to apply technical knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.

Technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 (M365) SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams.

Basic knowledge of DevOps/Cloud technologies: Azure, containerization, GitHub, and GitHub Actions, relational databases (SQL Server), and NoSQL databases (Cosmos).

Basic knowledge of application development using current technologies: .NET/C#, Moq, React, Next.js, Jest, SQL, and Bicep.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Access.
