OVERVIEW:

As the Pet segment for General Mills, Blue Buffalo's ambitious growth objectives are connected to an equally ambitious technology and innovation roadmap. If you want to play a key role in the delivery of this roadmap, we have an immediate need for a senior level professional with experiences supporting finance, SAP Analytics in the Cloud SAP and general SAP FI and COPA configuration. This person will report into the IT function and support our Blue Buffalo FP&A finance group. The Sr. Applications Analyst supporting Pet financial planning will play an integral part in formulating and delivering transformational solutions/capabilities, supporting backlog of enhancements while working directly with various business partners, D&T/IT leadership and external service providers to deliver value to our business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Business Partnership 20%
  • Partner with key financial stakeholders to lead month-end close and forecasting governance processes
  • Drive root cause analysis and improvements for gaps and opportunities identified during KPI reviews with stakeholder
  • Work closely with business and IT stakeholders and external service providers on a wide range of topics that require SAP financial expertise, including business requirements analysis, issue resolution, root-cause analysis, business process optimization, integration topics, cross-functional projects, end-user training, translating requirements into technical solutions, and providing cost-benefit analysis and estimates

Operational Leadership 80%
  • Drive delivery and support of planning and analysis solutions and enhancements in the areas of Financial Planning & Analysis, Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Finance and Brand Finance, leveraging multiple systems, including SAP, HANA Sidecar (Reporting & Profitability Analysis), SAC Planning & Reporting (SAP Analytics in the Cloud)
  • Participate in support schedule.
  • Apply strong knowledge of SAP FI and COPA configuration, with skilled understanding of underlying SAP financial table structures and data elements, to design enhancements and support profitability analysis solution
  • Apply knowledge of critical integration areas, including material master data and product hierarchies, to support design and support of reporting and forecasting
  • Prepare functional specifications, proactively facilitate knowledge transfer and user adoption of new and existing solutions
  • Help to manage the Blue Buffalo D&T team's catalog of test scripts and lead end user testing efforts for major projects and promote new functionality into production

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years financial experience in a CPG environment, with experience in corporate financial reporting and analyzing data
  • Experience in one or more of the following: FP&A, Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Finance, Brand Finance
  • Hands-on SAP SAC
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with technical data architects and developers to build solutions and enhancements
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), with ability to clearly articulate pros and cons of approaches, document use cases, specifications, solutions, and recommendations
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter, with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and be independently productive
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, follow-up and ensure execution of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong sense of accountability, ownership and pride in work performed with an eye towards continuous improvement
  • Comfortable with using meeting and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Strong conceptual and creative problem-solving skills, ability to work with considerable amount of ambiguity

• Experience working in an Agile methodology environment

• Tableau end-user experience (nice to have)

• Basic understanding of data architecture principles, preferably in SAC

• Basic understanding of HANA Sidecar or Business Warehouse experience

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in CIS (Computer Information Systems), MIS (Management Information Systems), Business Administration, or Operations is preferred
  • Equivalent work experience considered

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $89200.00 - $148800.00 / Annually.
