Senior Enterprise Architect, MarTech (Marketing Technology)

The Senior Enterprise Architect, MarTech will be a critical role within ETSAI (Enterprise Technology Strategy, Architecture & Innovation) group of General Mill's D&T (Digital and Technology) organization and will act as an advisor to leadership to develop overall digital marketing technology architecture strategy and vision for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple business units. This role will partner closely with the platform teams to ensure a performant and resilient MarTech/AdTech enterprise architecture. Additionally, the Senior Enterprise Architect, MarTech will work closely with Product Owners to determine their goals and outcomes, eliciting and analyzing requirements and creating tech strategy and architecture to enable both current as well as future needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Lead Enterprise Digital Marketing Technology Architecture and related technical strategies providing thought leadership in the areas of MarTech (e.g. CMS, DAM, MRM, CDP) and AdTech (DSP, DMP).
  • Set key strategic architecture direction and actionable roadmap for Digital Marketing technology capability areas working closely with other domain architects, marketing business partners and solution managers.
  • Create and evolve the end-to-end marketing portfolio architecture for the organization to meet current as well future business needs.
  • Collaborate and partner with the Marketing teams, D&T delivery teams, other solution architects in defining and documenting the use cases, translating the marketing strategy, business capabilities into technical strategy, capabilities and architecture. Create target state architecture, capability maturity roadmap and transition state architectures.
  • Engage with leadership to understand business strategy, articulate solution options, evaluate trade-offs and influence key decisions.
  • Communicate the enterprise MarTech portfolio architecture strategy to other solution architects and provide guidance in developing the solution architecture.
  • Facilitate MarTech architecture review forum with solution architects, other enterprise architects and solution delivery teams to ensure alignment with the overall enterprise MarTech architecture strategy and roadmap; review/approve the solution architecture for specific project/capability area by making sure the solution architecture aligns with the overall portfolio architecture strategy and guidelines.
  • Consult, advise, provide SME expertise to project teams on anything and everything related to enterprise MarTech architecture topics.
  • Conduct ongoing market research on latest trends and explore/research emerging marketing technologies, new MarTech/AdTech vendors and recommend new solutions to provide a competitive advantage to the organization.
  • Lead discovery projects and POCs.
  • Perform end to end impact assessment for any technical change and how it may impact upstream and downstream systems and processes.
  • Strategically engage with all stakeholders across General Mills and serve as an expert advisor to leadership on enterprise MarTech architecture topics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience architecting and designing software solutions using software architecture design principles.
  • 5+ years of experience in architecting and strategizing the digital marketing technology solutions in the areas of MarTech (e.g. CMS, DAM, MRM, CDP), AdTech (DSP, DMP) and adjacent digital technologies.
  • BS/BA Computer Science / MIS degree or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the MarTech domain with expertise in CMS, DAM, MRM, Social Relationship Management, Collaboration Work Management, Personalization Engines and Campaign Management technologies.
  • Deep understanding of consumer data (1st, 2nd and 3rd party data and consent management) and how it relates to enable marketing use cases - personalization, targeting, consumer analytics, insights.
  • Experience in architecture and design of marketing, advertising and marketing data/analytics platforms from big MarTech vendors (e.g. Adobe, Salesforce, Google, Oracle) as well as niche players (e.g. Twilio, Sprinklr etc.).
  • Understanding of marketing & advertising platform ecosystems and interplay of MarTech/AdTech components with the broader enterprise ecosystem (e.g. Sales and Service Tech stack, Big Data Platforms).
  • Demonstrated success engaging business partners in a consultative manner and turning business concepts into well designed technology solutions.
  • Experience with vetting packaged solutions against business/technical requirements; Strong at exploring emerging technologies/new vendors and identifying opportunities for their use.
  • Proficiency in enterprise architecture diagraming tools (visio, Sparx, Bizzdesign etc.).
  • Ability to draft proposals of cost vs. benefit/value of proposed architectural changes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possess the ability to tailor technical communications to any level (Exec to Developers).
  • Have strong technical leadership with change management skills.
  • Experience in cloud technologies, preferably Google Cloud Platform related.
  • Ability to break a problem of any size into manageable pieces.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise integration with an emphasis on scalable patterns.
  • Knowledge of consumer data privacy requirements and their implications to the consumer experience management solutions.
  • Proven track record of learning and adopting emerging technologies and new tools/vendors.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
  • Remote work-at-home applications will be considered.
  • Travel Required: 10%; to HQ (Minneapolis) based on the business needs e.g. critical in-person workshops.
