Sr Specialist Payroll

Description Robert Half requires a Payroll Administrator for payroll processing and demands proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Review source documents with necessary verification

Continue employee confidence in payroll operations by keeping sensitive information confidential

Handle reconciliation of employee deductions and other relevant liabilities

Updating payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers

Resolve payroll discrepancies via information collection and analysis

Using federal and state regulations and guidelines, certify company compliance

Other duties as assigned

Preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages

Calculate employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to determine payroll liabilities

Provide help with all internal and external audits of payroll

Manage payroll information requests and questions

Preparing relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for circulation to department heads

Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data

Follow established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report changes as necessary Requirements - Experience with high volume data entry

Good understanding of Microsoft Office Suites

Prior experience with US GAAP

Knowledge of Written Communication

Experience with payroll

Time Sheets experience highly valued

Comprehension of Terminations

Customer service experience

Experience with Salary Structures

Practical knowledge of Workstation Support

Previous experience working with Compliance Functions

Hands-on experience with detail oriented development

Compliance experience

General familiarity with About Time

Expertise in Office Functions

Foundational knowledge in 401k - RRSP Administration

Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills

Previous experience using accounting software

Relevant experience should include 2+ years in payroll

Certified Payroll detail oriented designation favored

Knowledgeable about federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

Mastery of internal controls

Knowledgeable of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen

Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
