Job Description

These positions will be responsible for the initial organization and inventory management of the new tool crib. These associates will also be responsible for issuing tooling to production orders and operators, monitoring inventories, collecting tools from work areas, and restocking tooling.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Receives, stores, and issues parts and machine tools

- Sort tooling according to type and usage and usability; sharp vs. dull

- Configure cabinets to enable proper storage of tooling

- Organize tooling in cabinets for maximum efficiency when issuing tooling

- Return tooling ensuring only re-usable tooling is returned to inventory

- Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to inventory

- Research different tooling options and make recommendations

- Maintains picking records and inventory adjustments in inventory management system

- Order tools through vending machines

- May mark and identify tools and parts, using identification tag, stamp, or electric marking tool

- Maintain budget and adherence

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE and CERTIFICATION, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

- High School Diploma or equivalent

- General machining knowledge

- Identify and distinguish between coatings and colors

- Blueprint reading

- Differentiate between tool holders

- Use a variety of measuring equipment, math aptitude

- Good computer skills a must; ability to utilize a variety of computer programs regularly

- Strong people skills and strong attention to detail

- Ability to organize and prioritize workload daily (incoming and outgoing)

- Ability to work with others

- Good verbal and written communication a must

- Good records keeping; time management

- Ability to use tools and work with your hands

- Self-motivated

- Show willingness to work safely under pressure

- Be able to work alone or as a team

Additional Information

This position will be in the machine shop environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 33 pounds. Personal protection equipment required depending on working area (safety shoes, ear protection, safety glasses w/side shields).
