Veterinary Assistant - Day ER

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Arden Hill, MN is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our team!Position: Veterinary Assistant with our ER Department.Work Schedule: Full Time; Day.Pay Range VAI: $19.35 - $26.55/hourThis pay band is dependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.Competitive Shift Differentials: Earn more with our shift differentials!

Weekday Night (Mon-Fri 6p to 8a): $3.50

Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8a to 6p): $3.50

Weekend Night (Sat-Sun 6p to 8a): $5.00

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will:

Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.

Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.

Understand classification ofcommonly usedmedications, associated sideeffectsand appropriatelymonitorstherapeutic response.

Administer medications viaappropriate routesand duration.

Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratoryrateand effort.

Possess a working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment andassistwith patients assigned ASA I or II classifications.

Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines anddemonstratesproficiencyin designated role as assigned by attending clinician and/or supervisor.
