If you answered "yes" to these questions, then we want to hear from you.Our Neurology Veterinary Assistants help veterinarians with crafting and going over surgical plans and estimates as needed. In addition, they perform diagnostics (e.g. radiographs, lab work), setting patients up for surgery, assisting with surgery, assisting with imaging (MRI, CT), discharging patients, and handling client communications. A rotating on-call schedule is required once training has been completed. Minimum of one year experience in a veterinary hospital. Specialty experience not required.Schedule: 4/10's, on-call rotation, 1 holiday/yearPay: $19.00 - $26.00 / hourThis pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system .We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. On-call pay consists of double time and a call-in fee.Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.Weekday Night (Mon-Fri 6p to 8a): $3.50Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8a to 6p): $3.50Weekend Night (Sat-Sun 6p to 8a): $5.00As a Surgery Assistant , you will:

Advance your veterinary skills with on-the-job training.

Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.

Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.

Understand classification ofcommonly usedmedications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.

Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.

Perform phlebotomy and run bloodwork,.

Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratoryrateand effort.

Possess a working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment and assist with patients assigned ASA I or II classifications.

Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrates proficiency in designated role as assigned by attending clinician and/or supervisor.

Assist and scrub into surgeries including: GDV, FHO, TPLO, total hip replacements, etc.

Cleaning and organizing the surgical suite and dedicated packroom.
