Job Description

As a Welding Team Lead, your responsibilities will include:

  • Effectively lead a team of 2 or more co-workers in day-to day work operations and maintain a positive work atmosphere.
  • Communicates effectively within the team and with support departments.

  • Regularly provides feedback in their area of responsibility to appropriate management.

  • Assist with routine administrative tasks and department back-up functions.

  • Provide feedback on a regular basis in designated area to appropriate management.

  • Participate as an active member of the production assembly team and assembly of products as required.

Qualifications

· Ability to comprehend and interpret symbols, dimensioning, tolerances, three-dimensional & Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing concepts in blueprints for welding

· Ability to follow proper sequences or procedures from job instructions

· Ability to set-up and schedule manual and robotic welding equipment as well as parts washing to cost-effectively produce high-quality product on a timely basis

· Knowledge of metal types by characteristics, markings, and uses

· Ability to identify scaled v. smooth surfaces, magnetic v. non-magnetic properties, warpage, corrosion properties, and color distinctions

· Ability to repetitively (using safe manual lifting procedure) lift 33 lbs. of material from ground up to waist high levels and load onto machinery

· Knowledge of conversion systems involving metric, U.S. standard and other measuring standards

· Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry to determine proper layout, programming, set-ups, and part inspection

· Ability to use math for general work (add, subtract, multiply and divide)

· Ability to adjust machines according to desired tolerances

· Ability to accurately inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other gauges, measuring threads, O.D, I.D., lengths, or depths within predefined accuracy ranges

· Ability to learn a variety of processes, including but not limited to forge, weld and saws

· Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and between shifts on work in progress

· Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, man-lifts, and other hoists

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Extensive work experience in manufacturing processes. 5+ years direct experience.

· Must be able to communicate effective with all levels of employees.

· Must have excellent problem solving skills.

· Must have a good verbal and written communication

· Leadership experience preferred
