This Employment Service Program position exists to provide Career Services and CareerForce information to job seekers through orientations, group instruction, and one-on-one assistance (online, over the phone and in-person) to ensure seekers are empowered to make informed career choices. This program prioritizes serving Unemployment Insurance Applicants, economically disadvantaged populations, Veterans, and youth. The incumbent provides career guidance consulting, assessments, and resources to job seekers and the summer youth program. This position will work closely with the Minneapolis public schools to support teachers and youth in job placement. Also, provides training on how to seek employment through job search classes, resume writing classes and other employment-related workshops both online and in-person. The incumbent will provide resources, so job seekers have access to information and tools necessary to secure appropriate employment, and employers have access to tools and information to successfully recruit and retain employees. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.Three (3) years of customer service or customer support experience providing prompt, courteous and accurate information to customers.OROne (1) year of experience in an administrative position supporting case management, career guidance, coaching, or in a similar role as determined by the agency.Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, or other closely related field as determined by the agency may substitute one (1) year of experience; master's degree substitutes for eighteen (18) months of experience; PhD substitutes for twenty-four (24) months of experience.Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:Skill in:

The development and presentation of workshops for adult and youth career seekers, to be offered virtual and in person.

Communication to provide career guidance and coaching for adults and youth and connect career seekers to work force training opportunities to advance skills.

Organizing and tracking expenses using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Ability to:

Form and grow connections with community partners such as educational institutions, employers and supportive services to assist career seekers in gaining employment.

Adapt to changing work priorities and goals.

Incumbent must maintain valid driver's license, & insurance, OR have other reliable transportation.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in education, social work, human services, counseling, or other closely related field as determined by the agency and related work experience.Experience using WorkForce One, CareerForceMN.com, Minnesotaworks.net, SharePoint, WebEx, Microsoft Office Suite programs, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).Experience in developing curriculum with the City of Minneapolis Employment and Training Program unit.Ability to schedule, notify youth, and provide interviews, assessment and job placement in subsidized summer positions for youth.Our employees are dedicated to ensuring cultural responsiveness.
