Job DescriptionThis position requires a current, valid teaching certificate issued and endorsed by the Michigan Department of Education. The teacher is a manager of prisoners in the classroom. The teacher must utilize established instructional practices to address the academic needs of all prisoners assigned to class at the ABE, Pre-GED and GED educational levels. The teacher will coordinate required assessment testing of students and complete all mandated reports in a timely manner. The teacher will help with Pre-Release programming for the facility (if needed) and will be responsible for keeping instruction and resources in alignment with the departmental Re-Entry program. This is a covered position located behind the secure perimeter of a correctional facility.
