This Position is Contingent on Contract Award. International SOS is looking for qualified individuals to provide child counseling services at locations around the world for The Navy Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP) which serves active duty members of the Navy, Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force plus their eligible family members; active duty members of foreign military services who are stationed in the area; reserve military personnel and their family members when they are eligible for military medical care, military members designated as severely wounded, ill and injured and their identified caretakers and, on a space available basis, military retirees and their family members and widows, eligible family members of military decedents and other groups as directed and authorized by higher authorities in response to special circumstances. The on-site child counselor shall provide a variety of counseling services for FFSP critical incident, counseling and advocacy services for individuals, families and groups. The Child Counselor will provide assessment and short-term, solution focused counseling services to eligible individuals, marital or intimate partners, families and/or groups. The scope of practice for the Child Counselor is limited to counseling services for Other Conditions That May be a Focus of Clinical Attention and Adjustment Disorders. They will ensure referral for appropriate behavioral health follow-up of any psychological disorders or symptoms requiring longer-term and/or medical/psychiatric intervention and coordinate and manage specialized assessment and intervention services for at-risk children identified both inside and outside of the Family Advocacy Program (FAP).  Key Responsibilities:Provide immediate intervention and risk assessment IAW best practices in the mental health community and educate and ensure adequate referral and follow-up of any case presenting suicidal or homicidal risk. Provide after-hours coverage for the FFSP in OCONUS locations, when required. Ensure that crisis response services are fully documented in a FFSMIS case record system. Facilitate and/or provide psychological first aid services to commands and/or groups within 24 hours of request, using accepted practices and procedures, in response to both small-scale (e.g., suicide) or large-scale incidents (e.g., Shipboard accident, man-made emergency). Collaborate with Chaplains and/or medical personnel in provision of psychological first aide, when indicated. Ensure that all crisis response and psychological first-aid services are entered and counted in FFSMIS. Ensure staff delivering crisis response and psychological first-aid services are accounting for all services delivered in the scheduling module in FFSMIS. Ensure referral for appropriate behavioral health follow-up of any psychological disorders or symptoms requiring longer-term and/or medical/psychiatric intervention. Coordinate and manage specialized assessment and intervention services for at-risk children identified both inside and outside of the Family Advocacy Program (FAP). Report suspected child abuse and domestic abuse/violence to the local civilian authorities and the Family Advocacy Representative IAW Navy and state requirements. Implement restricted reporting for incidents of domestic abuse IAW DoD and Navy requirements. Participate in site/regional quarterly quality assurance procedures to ensure that all clinical services provided are safe and of good quality.  Maintain data on number of clients who were not seen for routine clinical counseling due to staff limitations.  Follow all current Navy risk assessment protocols and procedures. Document and maintain current records in the FFSMIS Clinical Counseling Record System for all non-medical counseling assessment and counseling services provided IAW current Navy requirements.  Ensure all non-medical counseling information and referral, and one-on-one consultation not resulting in clinical assessment are entered and counted in FFSMIS.  Ensure staff delivering non-medical counseling services are accounting for all services delivered in scheduling module in FFSMIS.
