Civil Mechanical Engineer

JOB SUMMMARY/PURPSOSE:Project Engineering is focused on providing technical services to the Entergy Nuclear Fleet. As such, developing engineering products to support plant modifications from initial scoping to final return to service is departmental core business and priority. Project Engineering’s purpose is to provide high-quality modifications on budget and on time, with a focus on long term plant reliability improvements.JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide technical expertise and capabilities for Major Fleet Projects.

Assist the project team in problem solving, as needed, and critically challenge assumptions and decisions that can affect nuclear safety.

Coordinates and assists in developing long-range strategies in collaboration with nuclear station personnel for significant problems associated with Major Fleet Projects.

Leverages industry and site resources to resolve key technical issues and develops optimal fleet strategies to address issues, including establishing and communicating vision, mission, strategies, expectations, decisions, and transition plans.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Minimum education required of the position:B.S. Degree in Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline / physical science generally associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Engineer / Technical Specialist level.)
