Material Handler Forklift

Kelly is currently seeking a Yard and Warehouse Associate to join our partners team.As a Yard and Warehouse Associate, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of activities including loading and unloading trucks, maintaining inventory rotation, ensuring proper receiving procedures, and overall warehouse/yard upkeep. This position requires manual labor and the ability to move freight and stock.Essential Functions:

Safely load outgoing shipments and customer orders using forklifts, hand trucks, and other equipment in an outdoor environment.

Pack products and check for damaged items.

Unload incoming materials, such as pipe stock, wire rolls, fittings, and lumber, and transport them to designated locations using forklifts, hand trucks, and other equipment.

Accurately complete receiving documents and work orders.

Prepare fence products for customers or stock by performing tasks such as notching, cutting, bending pipes, sawing, and dog-earing lumber using simple machinery and hand tools.

Rotate yard stock using FIFO (First in First Out) method and operate forklifts to move materials. Maintain yard inventory by stacking stock properly and ensuring accessibility while preventing damage.

Perform inventory cycle counts with accuracy.

Perform routine yard and warehouse maintenance, including sweeping, cleaning, and minor repair and maintenance on equipment/tools.

Adhere to all safety policies and practices.

Learn from experienced yard personnel, pull orders from stock, fill will-call orders, and restock warehouse or parts bins with new material.

Perform incidental work assignments as required.

Certifications & Licenses:

Ability to safely and effectively operate a forklift and pass a forklift certification test (SITDOWN).

Other Requirements:

Must be able to work independently and lift/move materials up to 50 lbs. without assistance; heavier items may require teamwork.

Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Ability to understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must be able to write simple correspondence and effectively communicate information to customers, clients, and colleagues.

Must be able to work in a standard warehouse and/or yard environment with loud noise levels. Exposure to outside environmental conditions, including cold, wind, heat, and humidity.
