Position Title:RecruiterJob Description:HINDS COMMUNITY COLLEGEJOB TITLE: RecruiterREPORTS TO: Recruiting CoordinatorDEPARTMENT: Strategic Communications Center & RecruitingEXEMPT: YESVICE PRESIDENT: Vice President of Student ServicesGENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTIONAll Hinds Community College employees must commit to the Caring Campus approach to student engagement and daily apply these general behavioral objectives: listen to student questions and concerns with a positive attitude and make meaningful connections with students.The Recruiter will be responsible for targeting prospective students for credit courses. Recruitment of these students is conducted by visiting area high schools and other special events in the community, hosting on-campus events, providing campus tours (as needed), making phone calls, and sending written correspondence to prospective students. The position will be responsible for providing holistic enrollment services to assist prospective students throughout the enrollment process and to build relationships with external and internal stakeholders.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual must have advanced computer skills and have the ability to learn quickly. Using technology and analyzing student data is expected on a daily basis in a variety of platforms, including but not limited to Workday, Colleague, My.Hinds, SoftDocs, Sharepoint, and all Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Office 365 Forms, Excel, and PowerPoint. The Recruiter must deliver outstanding and unwavering customer service to prospective students and all internal and external constituents. The Recruiter must travel within Hinds, Rankin, Warren, Claiborne, and Copiah counties to recruit at events that may take place during traditional work hours, as well as evening and weekend hours.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree is required.

Two or more years in higher education or student services is preferred.

Two or more years of sales experience preferred, with a focus on using data to track outcomes and measure effectiveness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES , include the following.Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.

Represent Hinds Community College at all times in such a manner that the College’s reputation is promoted and maintained at the highest level of professionalism and positivity.

Work with the Enrollment Center teams to ensure a systematic and comprehensive enrollment strategy.

Maintain knowledge of nursing and allied health programs at Hinds, as well as career trends in our community within the healthcare field, in order to educate prospective students on college and career options.

Forge alliances with local businesses and workforce partners to establish recruitment pipelines for adult learners, enhancing enrollment opportunities.

Cultivate relationships with educational and legislative stakeholders, including high school counselors and career coaches to drive traditional and nontraditional student recruitment initiatives effectively.

Make visits to local high schools, attend college fairs, career fairs, trade fairs, job fairs, community events, and any other events conducive for recruiting prospective students.

Create and deliver College media presentations that may be provided virtually or face-to-face to both individuals and large audiences.

Use Navigator (Workday) on a daily basis to monitor, track, and contact prospective students. And follow-up with prospective students by phone, text, and email.

Provide the Recruiting Coordinator with annual recruiting goals, objectives, and recruiting analysis and reports, as needed.

Monitor and report recruiting progress in alignment with the goals of the strategic enrollment plan.

Work in the Enrollment Center to provide holistic enrollment services to students and provide outstanding and unwavering customer service at all times.

Recruit prospective students for all credit-bearing classes, both academic and career/technical programs.

Build relationships with faculty and staff in appropriate departments to collaborate and successfully meet the needs of prospective students for academic and career & technical education.

Assist the Recruiting Events Coordinator with organizing, planning, and working at all on-campus recruiting events.

Interact with the Hinds Connection members to build positive relationships and coordinate their participation in recruiting events.

Serve all six locations of Hinds Community College by recruiting for each location and physically train in certain areas.

Serve on the District Scholarship Committee, as needed, and assist in reviewing and selecting scholarship recipients.

Assist with Institutional Advancement events, as needed.

Maintain knowledge of the Mississippi Community College system.

Must have a valid driver’s license and adequate transportation.

Normal work hours are 8:00 to 4:30, Monday-Thursday and until 11:30 on Fridays; with extended office hours until 6:00 during designated peak registration times. Work on a rotational schedule to cover extended hours. Many on- and off-campus recruiting events occur in the evenings and weekends. These events are considered part of the job and part of the workday and are required to be covered.
