Assistant Kitchen Manager

Stone Canyon Pizza Co. is seeking a talented and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our culinary team. This position is ideal for someone with 2-3 years of high-volume restaurant experience who values a work-life balance—we offer highly competitive pay ($18-$20 per hour, depending on experience) with no late nights, a rare perk in the food service industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with the Kitchen Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure seamless service

Lead and develop kitchen staff through effective scheduling, hands-on training, and daily coordination

Uphold exceptional standards for food quality, presentation, and food safety compliance

Manage inventory levels, assist with supply ordering, and help control food costs

Contribute to menu planning and the creative development of daily specials

Train and mentor team members on proper cooking techniques, safety procedures, and best practices

Take full operational control of the kitchen in the Kitchen Manager's absence

Maintain adherence to all company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

2-3 years of experience in a high-volume professional kitchen environment

Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

Demonstrated understanding of staffing management and cost control

Culinary creativity with an understanding of front-of-house operations (serving and bartending)

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Full availability to work required shifts
