About the Opportunity

National IT's Treasury Services Division (TSD) supports the US Treasury's mission of providing exceptional accounting, financing, collections, payments and shared services to governmental agencies and citizens. TSD's hosting platforms support critical business functions that account for significant portions of the Federal Government's annual revenue, debt financing, and payments.

The TSD Cloud Product Architect will oversee the development and architecture of the Division's cloud hosting platform. This resource will work closely with Product Managers to develop a strategic mission and vision, multi-year strategic plan and architecture roadmaps. Additionally, this resource will leverage cloud infrastructure hosting platform and application perspectives to improve enterprise cloud services. The TSD Cloud Product Architect will also lead a team of architects and support enterprise technology initiatives while keeping abreast of relevant technology and architecture best practices.

What you will do:

Strategy & Planning (50%):
  • Works with key stakeholders to understand business needs and expectations in order to develop and maintain hosting platforms for TSD.
  • Lead the development of the overall cloud architecture. Areas of focus include organizational structure, identity and access management, networking, security, and integrations
  • Cloud Architect is hands on with various cloud technologies and able to lead conversations about cloud adoption
  • Develop standards, frameworks, patterns, and processes to benefit existing customers
  • Engages with key stakeholders, industry experts, and technical peers to understand technology and business requirements, industry trends and the broader FRS architecture landscape. Using this information, develops and maintains the technical architecture direction and roadmap for cloud capabilities.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of the current cloud platform and proactively leads the analysis of the technology environment to detect deficiencies, gaps, and opportunities. Works with leadership to prioritize, initiate and implement technology efforts aimed at addressing these opportunities.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide guidance as it relates to cloud automation and CI/CD capabilities
  • Act as a subject matter expert on technologies and trends in your domain of expertise.
  • Ensure compliance of solutions to architectural standards.
  • Work with Security Architecture and Information Security to ensure Integrity of solutions meet Enterprise standards and policies.

Delivery & Execution (25%):
  • Drive the solution /product development schedule for services from design to release at a high level; ensure that products are made available to customers and drive adoption.
  • Work cross functionally with engage, build, run and other product / solution managers to deliver best in class solutions to customers.
  • Define, prioritize, and plan the resources needed for programs/projects to be delivered on time working in conjunction with product teams.
  • Monitor solution project execution and ensure that the delivery is to the appropriate levels of quality and in line with its target date.
  • Works with build and domain architecture team for new business development to build and enhance the appropriate products and solutions for the business in a timely and efficient manner.

People & Partnership (25%):
  • Collaborates with client engagement, product teams, cross-product enablement functions and technical operations to understand needs and aggregate highest value opportunities.
  • Partners closely with National IT Cloud product teams, Treasury Relations and Support Office and other stakeholders supporting the U.S. Treasury to ensure alignment of strategic direction and goals.
  • Collaborates with third party vendors to ensure that the vendor's strategic direction is in alignment with TSD's strategy.
  • Communicates current and future strategic plan to diverse group of stakeholders, ensuring appropriate input and awareness of activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with industry leading cloud service providers
  • 10 years of experience acting as a technical lead or architect across multiple technical domains and architectures. Successful candidate should have deep knowledge in one of these areas and experience in at least 2 other areas: Security, infrastructure, network, data, or business architecture.
  • Good understanding of agile principles and development methodologies including DevOps practices
  • Hand-on experience with industry leading container platforms
  • Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies required
  • Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to tailor the presentation to various audiences and technical expertise
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Cloud Certifications are a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/Master's Degree may be preferred
