The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a Software Engineer with a background in test automation for a Cloud Payment System. This role would be responsible for developing and implementing testing frameworks/suites within a dynamic business environment. This role will and enhance an existing test automation framework, advocate, and share quality processes throughout the team. As quality practices are established and distributed within the team this role will incorporate into the Software Engineer role. Qualified candidates will bring solid programming and testing expertise in complex and dynamic circumstances.

Key Activities:• Applies the principles of software engineering to the design, implementation, configuration, and optimization of solutions in support of applications, databases, test automation tools, DevOps processes, and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products.• Demonstrates technical skill in at least one programming general purpose language (Java, C#, Python, etc.) and domain specific language (HTML, SQL, proprietary vendor language, etc.), as needed.• Performs peer reviews using software engineering principles, patterns, and development guidelines.• Partners with customers in the development of innovative solutions that achieve business goals.• Reviews and analyzes business and technical requirements, and implements technical solutions to meet those requirements.• Provides on-call support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident management, and service request management for supported products and environments.• Contributes to alternative analysis, including assisting with researching vendor solutions.

• Some application development/testing may be required outside typical business hours.

Qualifications:

• Typically requires at least 6 years of relevant experience.• Bachelor's degree specializing in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or a closely related field, from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.

• Experience with test automation framework implementation utilizing different technologies (e.g. Java, PyTest, RestAssured, Cypress, PACT, Behave, Cucumber, Selenium, etc.).• Experience with different types of Quality testing (e.g. Unit, Component, API, Contract, Integration, Regression, Smoke, End-to-End, Functional, etc.). • Experience with Amazon Web Services (e.g. EC2, S3, Docker, EKS, ECS, S3, DynamoDb, Aurora, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, etc.). • Experience with integrating automation test code into CI/CD pipeline processes.• Ability to adapt and learn new technologies.• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships and work well in a collaborative team environment

• This position requires United States Citizenship.

These additional screenings would be initiated at the time of offer acceptance and can take up to a couple of months to be completed. • The primary desired work location for this position is Kansas City, Missouri. We offer employees the flexibility to work from home up to 80 percent of the time, depending on specific team needs. Full time remote will also be considered for this position.
