Job Title: CNC MachinistJob DescriptionResponsible for CNC shape cutting parts of aerospace work stands and tooling through machining practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Machining of products using standard shop procedures, mechanical drawings, and other written or verbal instructions. Performs a variety of tasks and works under direct supervision. Looking for someone with experience.Responsibilities
Set up fixturing and precision measuring equipment to produce an acceptable first piece.
Prepare tooling, fixturing, gauges, materials, and paperwork.
Complete all necessary documentation per company policy for first piece approval.
Keep machinery and work area clean, safe, maintained, and organized.
Assist in other areas in order to meet production needs.
Comply with all PPE and machine guarding as necessary with each job.
Perform sharpening tasks, offsets, and adjustments based on tool wear within current program.
Measure and check parts.
Keep waste low, minimize scrap, use labor efficiently, and account for all parts on jobs.
Improve on product throughput via additional operations such as multiple machine operation, de-burring, cleaning, etc.
Program machine, fixturing, material, and paperwork preparation such as sharpening, locating, verifying, programming, editing, etc.
Set-up and proof CNC machines for runs to achieve a first piece quality product.
Monitor set-up times and run-times for accuracy and provide necessary changes to the Department Supervisor.
Monitor condition of job-specific tooling or holding fixtures, make authorized changes as needed or directed.
Suggest and implement improvements to the machining process.
Responsible for writing, creating, and testing CNC programs.
Ensure the produced CNC programs are optimized.
Perform adjustments to adhere to established specifications or revisions.
