System One is actively recruiting for a Construction Superintendent for a permanent position based out of Manhattan, KS.Projects from Oklahoma to Omaha, if located in this area, you would not need to relocate.Superintendent will oversee and manage the heavy civil construction operations and services at the jobsite level. A person to closely work with Project Manager, subcontractors, vendors and owners. Some of the jobs will last 3-6 months, while others can be up to 3 years. This position will be with our client, a general contractor based out of Manhattan, KS that has been in business for over 80 years. They operate in the water and wastewater industry, providing construction services by building and upgrading water treatment plants primarily between Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.Projects typically include the installation and replacement of mechanical equipment such as pumps, piping, clarifier equipment, barscreens, grit removal equipment, heavy civil and concrete construction, miscellaneous sitework, excavations, grading, and more.General Experience:

General jobsite record keeping requirements such as recording employee’s time, proper coding of receipts and time, daily/weekly work logs, submittal/contract document organization, JHA/JSA meetings, weekly toolbox talks, jobsite inspections, equipment inspections, and more.

Team leader, mentor, and motivator. Good communication skills are a must.

Experience with concrete forming systems such as hand-set forms, gang forms, round and square structures, foundations, walls, slabs, columns, sidewalks, elevated decks, and more.

Ability to read, interpret, and communicate the project requirements according to the contract documents, drawings, and specifications.

Inspection of forms, support systems, and concrete reinforcement prior to concrete placement to ensure no issues are present.

Successful builds between $250K and $50M.

General Requirements:

4-year degree in a construction related field is preferred.

3-5 years of related heavy civil construction experience is required, water/wastewater experience preferred.

Provide accurate reporting to Project Management regarding the status of the work and any delays that are foreseen or that have been experienced.

Maintain accurate contract documents onsite such as red-lines, RFI’s, and change orders throughout the project as necessary.

Work with Project Management to assist in development of work schedules.

Coordination with crew and Subcontractors to ensure project delivery within given schedule.

Monitoring and enforcement of company safety policies and procedures.

Ensure the use of sound construction practices to attain the required level of quality control.

May oversee the work of lower-level Superintendents and other responsibilities associated with this position as required.

Bilingual a plus.
