- Write content that will be displayed on client's public-facing website and many Web applications.
- Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
- Review requirements to determine appropriate copy for labels, buttons, drop-downs, alerts, error messages, and other UI elements.
- Collaborate with UX designers to produce content that will facilitate iterative designs and improve user experience.
- Work with product owners, Legal, and other stakeholder groups to identify and implement changes to UI content.
- Research industry-related topics (combine online sources, interviews, and study).
- Prepare well-structured drafts using a content management system.
- Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images, and tone).
- Update website content as needed.
- Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.
- Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are addressed appropriately.
- Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, and form documentation.
- Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Communications, English, or Journalism specific to technical writing and 3 to 8 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Excellent UX writing, plain language writing, and editing skills in English.
- Ability to understand business requirements and how copy will impact the user experience.
- Understanding of grammar rules and how to construct clear sentences being mindful of things including flow, readability, and sentence variety.
- An understanding of search engine optimization best practices.
- Proven work experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter, or similar role.
- Familiarity with Web publications.
- Hands-on experience with content management systems.
