At the Federal Reserve of Kansas City, we tackle extremely complex and interesting problems every day. As a Data Analyst, you will work within the business function of the IT Division to drive data management maturity and improve team outputs. You will be a specialized data professional embedded within a team of general analysts who utilize financial, project management, and operational data sources to help technology leaders make data-driven decisions. You will be a leader in our team's business analytics function, working to build and mature department data management processes, mentor and assist analysts with data transformation and structure, and explore opportunities for automation and advanced analytic modeling techniques.

Job Duties:
  • Produces, updates and implements guidelines and documentation of policies, processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Trains and coaches team members on best practices and procedures in alignment with data strategy.
  • Identifies areas of improvement in data collection, cleansing, validation and analysis processes or systems and make recommendations to correct any deficiencies.
  • Configures, operates, and develops manual and/or automated methods, processes, and procedures to test output or input based on data compliance, quality and use requirements as established by product management, client specifications, and governance programs.
  • Works on Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes/projects, individually or as part of or in conjunction with a database/data warehouse team.
  • Constructs and applies standard statistical analysis and/or models to verify data acceptability/accuracy.
  • Ensures data integrity by implementing quality assurance practices.
  • Plans, designs, develops, and performs quality assessments on data elements and structures to document and evaluate integrity, completeness, quality, and appropriateness of formats, records, and structures.
  • Performs regular and ad hoc reviews, audits, and investigations of data activity and integrity; prepares reports and summaries of findings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with specialization in an information technology field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.
  • Typically requires three or more years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ETL experience preferred.
  • Experience with Tableau products strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL, R, or Python preferred.
  • Experience developing models for trend analysis preferred.
  • Incumbent must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless the Bank grants an accommodation based on a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
