Data ScientistJOB SUMMARYMetro Systems is looking for a Data Scientist in St. Louis, MO. The Data Scientist is responsible for developing data-driven solutions to our client’s business problems. Utilizes analytical, statistical, and programming skills to clean, aggregate, and analyze large data sets and interpret results. Responsible for Developing Tableau Visualizations, SQL Queries, SSIS and Data Transfer jobs. Integrates Business Acumen with Data Literacy to tell the data story of performance metrics within BAQARM organization. Engages with Executive and Director-level stakeholders for Elicitation and Presentation of the reports and data generated. This position requires strong skills to investigate, troubleshoot, and Improve technical performance of reports and data retrieval. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESActively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Execute the complete analytics life-cycle for problem solving, including: requirements gathering, problem formulation, data grooming, data exploration, model prototyping and model validation.Leverage knowledge in analytical and statistical algorithms to help stakeholders explore methods to improve their business. Utilize experience and feedback to recommend options during the development/research/analysis phase.Establish links across existing data sources and find new, interesting data correlations.Visualize and report data findings creatively in a variety of visual formats that appropriately provide insight to the stakeholders and explain the importance of patterns in the data.Assist in creating project plans to help team achieve defined project goals within deadlines; proactively communicate status and escalate issues as needed.Creating visualizations for the data extracted with the help of TableauIdentifying patterns and meaningful insights from data by analyzing itDesigning dashboardsManaging Tableau ServerManaging big dataTwisting SQL queries for improving performancesExamining glitches in business processes and resolving themFinding the key areas of automation to make the business processes smoothDeveloping reference documents or reports for the finalized project with the use of Tableau reporting REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSRequired Skills/Abilities and KnowledgeAbility to read, write, speak and understand EnglishOutstanding interpersonal, communication and stakeholder relationship skills – able to work effectively with customers from developers and operations personnel through senior managementMust be self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work with minimum supervisionIntellectually curiousExperience using Tableau reporting toolExtensive experience with analytical and statistical softwarePassionate about data maintenance, data quality control and all other important data analysis techniquesDemonstrated analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracyFamiliarity with the properties of the major families of machine learning techniques (regression, decision trees, clustering, SVMs, neural networks, time series).Demonstrated interpersonal communication, verbal and written, relationship management, and customer service skills with a focus on working effectively in a team environmentAbility to work cross-functionally to solve complex problems and improve quality and serviceAbility to perform involved and independent research and analysisAbility to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive informationWillingness to learn: Develop expertise in areas outside of core comfort zone Required EducationBachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, operations research and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
