Job Description

Cerner is hiring a Database Administrator II to Design, implement, maintain and/or support business-critical database technologies and cloud databases to provide structurally sound and secure data throughout solutions. This associate will install and upgrade database software, implement and maintain database security, conduct proactive and reactive database monitoring and maintenance. In addition to these duties, the Database Administrator will configure, monitor, and maintain database replication, set up and maintain database backups and triage and troubleshoot database alerts and issues. Performing database tuning, performance monitoring and capacity management are also key duties of this role.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 5 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education including:
    • At least 1 year of database, system administration and/or system engineering work experience
    • At least 4 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education
      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronics, Mathematics, Operational Research or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

Expectations
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Willing to reside in or relocate to Kansas City, MO
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
