THE POSITION:

The Director of Nursing is responsible for guiding and overseeing the day to day clinical operations of the Clinical Nurse Coordinators, Clinical Nursing Supervisor, and/or Medical Necessity Appeals Nurses. The Director of Nursing develops appropriate clinical guidelines to ensure quality patient care is provided in accordance with state and federal guidelines, as well as contractual obligations. They collaborate with care team leadership, support the development of program services, policies and procedures, and ensure high levels of patient and client satisfaction.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

People leaders must possess both the skills to effectively accomplish these tasks and the emotional intelligence to do so in alignment with our cultural values.  In addition to the critical management and leadership tasks listed above, this role also includes the following unique responsibilities.Provide leadership, resource abilities and advanced clinical knowledge to ensure high levels patient care and satisfactionConduct training and evaluation of clinical nursing staffInterview, select and supervise the activities of the clinical nursing staff; communicate interpret and discuss with team the company policies and proceduresDetermine job objectives, work methods and performance standards; review performance relative to departmental objectives with each employeeTo promote client satisfaction by ensuring compliance to program services, policies and contractual obligationsSet clear direction, effective plans and measurable outcomesCoordinate activities with finance team and Clinical Nurse Coordinators to manage Field Infusion Nurses, who are responsible for onboarding new patients and coordinating and providing home infusion services for new and active patientsUnderstand the processing of clinical appeals as needed, be able to cross train associates in Medical Necessity Appeals.Planning, organizing and coordinating various projects, programs and servicesSupervise adverse drug event reporting to ensure contractual and regulatory guidelines are met. Participate in client audits as requiredParticipate and contribute in staff meetings and patient care conferencesPerform clinical monitoring activities in conjunction with other healthcare professionalsContinually evaluate the efficiency, productivity, and accuracy of the clinical team and take initiative to improve efficiency, improve quality, and develop best practicesServe as a point of escalation for calls requiring a higher degree of clinical expertise or discretion to resolve customer issues or complaintsKeep abreast of state and federal laws pertaining to infusion services, URAC, and ACHC guidelinesOversee/Investigate and resolve patient/payer requestsTravel: 25% Local resources; however, travel for pitches and client QBRsThe above list reflects the general details necessary to describe the expectations of the position and shall not be construed as the only expectations that may be assigned for the position.An individual in this position must be able to perform the expectations listed above successfully.
