Find your future with us.The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Entry Level Lab Operations Engineer to join the F-22 Lab Operations Engineering Team in Berkeley, MO .The Boeing test group consists of the F-22 Agile Integration Lab (AIL), 757 Flying Test Bed (FTB), & Boeing Software Development Lab (BSDL) located in St. Louis, MO. The AIL/FTB has the unique capability to fly prototype software and hardware as well as participate in F-22 Flight Test exercises.This role is part of the Lab Operations team, which is responsible for maintaining the AIL/FTB and the BSDL, design and implementation of lab improvements, and the integration of new hardware and/or software into the labs. The position includes working in an aircraft integration ground lab as well as occasionally flying on the 757 Flying Test Bed. The selected candidate will help define and implement changes to modernize the F-22 lab test infrastructure.The Lab Operations engineer will participate and/or lead projects to design and integrate equipment (Special Test Equipment (STE) and Primary Mission Equipment (PME)) into the lab to support new test capabilities. Additionally, the Lab Ops Engineer will lead / assist with modernization and general maintenance of the lab. This position requires a solid understanding of complex laboratory and computing systems. A solid understanding of the software environment within the lab infrastructure is advantageous. The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated when working in a dynamic team environment.Position Responsibilities:
Ensuring that the test facility is functional and properly configured for the scheduled test activities
Management of Projects for Modifications and Upgrades for Lab Equipment and the FTB
Design equipment that support Lab Operations
Troubleshoot and provide solutions for STE failures
Provide engineering support during deployments of the FTB
Disposition of non-conforming parts & equipment
Acquisition of materials/parts needed to maintain lab readiness
Communicate effectively on a diverse team that partners Boeing with Lockheed Martin, the USAF, and suppliers.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Export Control:This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.This position requires the ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with laboratory testing and/or integration and/or aircraft avionics
Experience with fiber optics
Experience with 1553 bus communication
Experience with electrical system troubleshooting
Experience with engineering design and drawing creation
Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.Shift:This position is for first shift.
