Field Technician

Description:The tech will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of landfill gas collection (LFG) and control systems (GCCS). The GCCS is a series of extraction wells drilled into the landfill waste mass to collect gas as the waste decomposes. The LFG wells are interconnected via below grade piping to either be burned off in a controlled manner via flare or utilized in a renewable energy project. Proper operation of the GCCS is required to comply with various State and Federal environmental regulations.This position requires the ability to work independently without direct supervision. The following is just some of responsibilities the position requires. Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned and vary by location.

Properly operate and maintain (O&M) the GCCS in a timely and cost-effective manner to ensure regulatory compliance and optimize performance.

GCCS O&M includes but not limited to:

Calibrate operate and maintain electronic data collection devices necessary to tune the wellfield.

Collect, upload to site database and review data from each wellfield monitoring event.

Implement tuning the individual wells based on data review.

Perform O&M on various liquid management systems, including pneumatic or electric driven pumps

Use Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) or High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) piping materials and associated equipment to perform maintenance on piping materials.

Develop basic understanding of environmental regulations related to LFG and GCCS

Follow job related and site-specific health and safety requirements and procedures.

Available for on-call response to GCCS related malfunction event(s).
