Job Summary:

Seeking a server/waiter for a small omakase sushi restaurant. Our goal is to provide the best hospitality experience in the city to just eight guests, twice each night. An ideal candidate will be passionate about providing hospitality first and foremost; interests in sushi, wine, and/or sake are also helpful. All skills can be taught to someone with the right attitude.

Responsibilities:

This is primarily (80%) a traditional fine-dining server/waiter role: you will handle beverage service including the pairing menu; present dishes/beverages and provide information to guests; answer questions; and generally ensure guests' needs are met. You will also present and handle guests' checks, including operating the point-of-sale system.

Due to the very small nature of our restaurant, this role may also include some responsiblities (20%) that may not ordinarily be handled by the server/waiter, including:

-Serving as host/hostess, welcoming guests, taking coats/bags

-Polishing stemware for service

-Bringing items to the chef during service

-Light dishwashing duty (e.g., loading/unloading water glasses from dishwasher between seatings)

-Light bussing duty (e.g., wiping down sushi counter and resetting between seatings)

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in fine dining is preferred but not required

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

-Ability to work independently to execute service

- Ability to stand for long periods of time; walk, reach, and bend for service tasks; and lift up to 25 pounds
