High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
with (2) years of experience in grounds keeping, preferably on a golf course.
Ability to obtain Missouri pesticide applicator license within six months of hire.
Experience and proficiency with grounds assessment, small engine repair, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and lawn mowers.
Excellent customer service skills.
Requirements
Must pass pre-employment drug testing and submit to periodic drug testing as required by applicable laws.
May be required to work weekends or a variety of shifts.
Subject to emergency call-in.
At least 18 years of age.
Class B CDL and valid Missouri driver's license.
OR
Must take and pass, at minimum, the written portion of the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) exam (permit) within 90 days of hire.
AND
A class "B" CDL, at minimum, must then be obtained within the 6-month probationary period.
Abilities

Operate equipment such as riding and farm tractors with PTO implements, rubber tire loaders, dump and flat-bed trucks, snow plows, salt spreader, mowers, hand and power tools, and vehicles in a manner consistent with safety principles;

FUNCTIONSEssential Functions
Mow fairways, greens, approaches, aprons, driving range and rough to different, but precise standards.
Perform mowing and weed eating around clubhouse, other structures, and sites assuring thoroughness and safety.
Hand waters greens, rakes bunkers, repairs course damage, maintain on-course bathroom, and other general course maintenance.
Assist with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical projects on a limited basis as needed, assuring completeness and safety for self and others.
Apply pesticides and fertilizers under the direction and supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, utilizing all safety precautions.
Interact with supervisor, co-workers, and the public in a professional and courteous manner.
Display ability to work on a team with a common purpose.
Respond to request by immediate supervisor in an accurate, complete, and timely manner.
Perform work assignments efficiently and timely, making productive use of time between assignments.
Maintain an awareness of safety issues relating to equipment and vehicle operations assuring protection of self, co-workers, and equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
Assist with snow removal as needed assuring availability.
Maintain a state of readiness when storms are forecast.
Install and maintain landscaping as requested.
Supervise and train seasonal golf course maintenance crews assuring safety and professionalism.
Assist with janitorial and maintenance emergencies in the clubhouse during high volume times.
Maintain an awareness of and adhere to City policies.
