Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in Springfield, Massachusetts, United States. This role involves a range of responsibilities related to medical billing, data entry, research, and customer service in the healthcare industry. The successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring efficient and accurate medical billing processes and procedures, researching and resolving billing issues, and maintaining strict confidentiality in handling sensitive information.Responsibilities: Ensure effective and timely communication of issues that could affect reimbursements Perform accurate online data entry of account changes and communicate these changes as necessary Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of third-party payer guidelines relevant to revenue cycle procedures Initiate telephonic contacts with third-party payers, patients or guarantors, and attorneys to expedite payments and resolve billing issues Identify recurring rejections and trends, reporting these to the relevant personnel for follow up Conduct research and perform Accounts Receivable follow-up for all assigned areas as needed Carry out secondary payer billing and follow-up activities in line with carrier specifications and monthly procedures required for the closure of books Observe all health and safety guidelines and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information as mandated by HIPAA Attend and actively participate in assigned inter/intra-departmental meetings Coordinate follow-up efforts with co-workers from other units and departments as necessary. Requirements Proficiency in data entry and documentation Comprehensive understanding of medical procedures and policies Experience in payment processing and research Familiarity with accounts receivable (AR) and billing practices Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Proficient in research analysis and closing assigned accounts Knowledge of HIPAA-regulated specifications and safety guidelines Experience in medical billing and handling reimbursements Ability to attend department meetings and contribute effectively Understanding of revenue cycle processes and ability to resolve billing issues Experience in handling outstanding accounts and dealing with third-party payers Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
