This position will be located in Kansas City, MO Summary: Supervises bargaining unit personnel and/or oversees contractor personnel in the effective performance of equipment maintenance and repair and related activities Duties and Responsibilities: Ensures conformance in work area to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement
Assists in the planning and scheduling of manufacturing equipment and systems repair work
Assigns and supervisors project work as assigned
Ensures compliance with safety instructions for repair work and acquires needed work permits as needed
Analyzes delays and noncompliance with schedules and initiates corrective action
Review work in process ensuring adherence to specifications and cost objectives
Provide training and guidance to others working on the reporting systems
Reports status of work and recommends improvements in methods, equipment and use of personnel
Directly supervises employees and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
May perform other duties as required
Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment. Takes actions necessary to ""stop"" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. You Must Have:
U.S. citizenship in order to obtain and maintain U.S. Department of Energy ""Q"" level security clearance
Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, certification or associates with 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education -OR- minimum of four years practical related manufacturing experience
Must be able to work any shift and/or alternate work week as required - Likely 2nd shift work (3pm-11pm MON-FRI)
Occasional on-call weekend work once every 6-8 weeks
Work from home is NOT an option - must be on-site with rare exception
We Value:
Experience with embedded system development using Linux for a new target platform
Experience using a variety of languages such as C, C, VB, Assembly, Python
Experience creating GUI applications
Knowledge of software engineering design, coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting
techniques, across all phases of an application development lifecycle
Hands on electrical testing and troubleshooting
Experience in translating system performance and operational specifications into software requirements, design, and test specifications
Experience leading teams of engineers to accomplish complex software development projects
Ability to define, investigate and lead a technical team to solve engineering problems
Goal oriented, a positive, can-do, get the job done attitude
Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
