DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION:As part of the Enterprise Network Support Team, you will perform support and administrative functions for the day-to-day operation of an IT Network services environment. When required, escalate operational or technical concerns to SME(s) for the given infrastructure service or end user program area. Provides on-call coverage for all network assets within the area of operational responsibility.Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities: Provide Enterprise network and Unified Communications operational support in a multi-vendor Enterprise environment Provide Enterprise Network and Unified Communications capacity planning and monitoring on multi-vendor platforms Provide Enterprise remote access VPN support to include but not limited to Juniper JUNOS Secure Access platform, Juniper Pulse, and Cisco AnyConnect. Provide operational Enterprise IP Telephony and Unified Communications support. Provide operational Enterprise Collaboration Services support to include, but not limited to: multi-vendor and multi-platform Video Teleconferencing. Provide new technology deployment and project management services. Maintain, configure, and provide support services for multi-vendor network hardware components. Network Access Control (NAC) deployments and administration using Cisco ISE Follow BMC Remedy, ITIL best practices, and change management processes Implement WAN optimization strategies and configuration management - River-Bed WAN Optimizers. Prepare technical documentation deployment, installation, configuration, operational support and troubleshooting of Enterprise installations of WAN/LAN & Data Center network infrastructure, specifically Cisco, Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls, F5 Big IP load balancersMay design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain networks and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities. Prepares the analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling. May conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis. May evaluate new technology. Duties may include providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; providing information for hardware and software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network systems. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.IMPACT: Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in allocation of additional resources.LIASON: Primarily internal company contacts. Infrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Management1-2years of concentrated hands-on experience in Network AdministrationExperienced in providing Enterprise network and Unified Communications operational support in a multi-vendor Enterprise environment.Experience supporting Enterprise-Wide remote VPN access deployments (Juniper JUNOS, Juniper Pulse, Cisco AnyConnect) and/or large-scale wireless (Cisco Wireless LAN infrastructure).Experience in developing and implementing policies, plans, and procedures.Good Interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.Must be able to work with groups to solve business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals.Preferred:Valid Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA) Routing & Switching, certification.Experience with any of the following is a plus: Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA, ForeScout/CDM (Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation)Tools: Cisco ISE, SolarWinds, Cisco DNACovid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
