With a vision for transforming healthcare based upon the best evidence for nursing practice, we are seeking to hire Nurse Scientists to contribute to our strategic priorities for nursing research and evidence-based practice within the Ascension Nursing Center of Excellence. The ideal candidate will actively participate in achieving these priorities for addressing programs of research in workforce stabilization, quality and safety and the achievement of health equities, working in collaboration with the National Senior Director of Nursing Research and the Vice President for Nursing Research and Evidence-based Practice. A focus on designing and implementing new models of care that embrace the joy of care delivery and technology-enabled practice, social determinants of health and of learning, and diversity in nursing is essential. Location: Remote- Texas candidates preferred What You Will DoAssume lead role in various nursing research projects.Collaborate to design, fund, conduct, evaluate and report on research projects.
Secure grants and funding for research and is responsible for controlling budgets.
Ensure research activities comply with applicable ethical, legal, regulatory and funding requirements.
Serve in a mentorship, supervisory and/or consultative capacity to students and staff.
Maintain current knowledge of healthcare research-related issues, trends and scientific developments.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Required Credential(s): Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
Work Experience:
None required.
Additional PreferencesPreferred Experience:PhD in Nursing or comparable field such as Public Health, Biostatistics or Administration
Post Doctural Fellowship candidate preferred.
3 + years of experience post PhD preferred.
A focus on at least one of the areas of research that aligns with the Ascension strategic priorities for nursing research.
Experience with manuscript submission, publication and grant-writing is preferred.
Experience in study design, study implementation and professional dissemination of results at professional meetings is preferred.
