Job Description: The collaborative and forward-thinking Platform Engineering team maintains platforms that enable IT, teams, to develop, deploy, and operate custom software solutions and infrastructure. The team strives to enable automated deployments via standards and best practices while developing templates, interfaces, and other tools to accelerate the development of new solutions. Platform Engineering proactively researches and implements new platforms and features to satisfy customer needs.
  • Demonstrate interest and willingness to learn new technologies/practices.
  • Embrace modern CI/CD practices (including automated testing).
  • Focus on solving problems, addressing bottlenecks, and eliminating manual work.
  • Approach problems with self-service and automation in mind.
  • Communicate and collaborate with fellow team members and platform consumers.
Responsibilities include:
  • Managing application and Windows and Linux host configuration via tooling such as Ansible.
  • Developing log processing configuration to index a variety of application logs.
  • Working with consumers to create and enhance CI/CD pipeline templates to create reusable build, test, and deployment automation for custom code and configurations.
  • Managing, updating, and orchestrating platforms such as Azure DevOps Server.
  • Enabling observability of platforms, applications, and infrastructure by persisting and alerting on metrics stored in DataDog.
  • Sharing on-call duties for platform-related issues (week-long rotation, with the ability to flex/trade with other team members).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a field requiring strong analytical and quantitative skills such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or Information Systems strongly preferred.
  • Experience with the SDLC and git.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling, specifically with writing pipelines to build, test, and deploy software.
  • Experience with GitOps/Infrastructure-as-Code preferred.
  • Experience with Observability/Monitoring tooling is a plus.
  • Experience developing software in a DevOps model is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms is a plus.
  • Experience dealing with containerized applications is a plus.
