As a new bank in formation, you’ll have a direct impact on our success.As a Senior/Principal Architect, you’ll help architect our systems and serve as a technical leader on our team. In addition to designing architecture, you will participate in our release planning, scoping, and road mapping activities. We’ll count on you to have deep technical discussions and creative brainstorms in pursuit of innovative mobile, web, and API-driven banking products. Further, you will have the opportunity to mentor and teach others on our team and within our company about effective technical design and best practices.SkillsAn ideal team member will have experience with many of these technologies and practices:Extensive experience creating solutions and strategies across multiple architecture domains (business, application, data, integration, infrastructure, and security), using well-defined industry-standard architectural styles and design patterns.

Working knowledge of necessary technology disciplines including serverless cloud architecture, modern integration methods (API Gateway/Web Services, Messaging & RESTful architectures), and client-side application development.

Hands-on experience with addressing architectural cross-cutting concerns and their tradeoffs, including topics such as caching, monitoring, operational surround, high availability, and security.

Strong knowledge of data modeling, security patterns, and integration methods, including the ability to resolve software architecture conflicts, specifically when integrating with third-party and partner APIs and systems.

Experience creating, diagraming, and documenting reference architectures that demonstrate an understanding of significant components and the relationships between them

Deep understanding of cloud architecture on AWS systems, including Route 53, CloudFront, WAF, API Gateway, Cognito, Secrets Manager, Lambdas, CloudWatch, and others. (must have 3+ years of AWS experience; 5+ years is nice to have)

Experience designing, building, and scaling applications written with Javascript/Typescript, Node.js, React, HTML/CSS, and familiarity with Terraform. (should have 3+ years of Javascript experience; nice to have any experience with Node.js/React/HTML/CSS; should have some experience with Terraform)

Overall experience: 8+ years of professional software development or software architecting experience

Duties and ResponsibilitiesTypical day-to-day responsibilities for this role include:Overseeing the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all IT systems and infrastructure

Coordinating and participating in the design of infrastructure, network, APIs, and application architecture

Guiding in the development of in-house applications, the installation and configuration of 3rd party applications and services, and the ongoing support and maintenance of all IT systems and infrastructure

Participating in strategic level discussions, creating and leading tactical level initiatives and implementations, and distilling requirements and objectives into operational level directives

Directing and participating in technical discussions, decisions, and documentation

Defining, communicating, and exemplifying standards and best practices

Performing code and/or security reviews and mentoring fellow developers

Participating in an on-call rotation and an Agile/SCRUM development methodology
