Principal Systems Engineer (Remote) We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join us as a Principal Systems Engineer to support the design, development, and analysis of Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) hardware to be used in low Earth orbit, cislunar space, the lunar surface, and beyond. Primary Responsibilities:

Develop system-level trades and optimization studies

Perform thermal/fluid/chemical system modeling, steady state & transient performance analyses, as well as component sizing. 

Develop interdisciplinary requirements at the system, subsystem, and component levels

Provide subject matter expertise and deep technical knowledge in aero- thermal analysis

Review and approve specifications and trade studies.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements  

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated history of providing subject matter expertise in the development on underwater or in-space ECLSS systems

Familiarity with some or all of the following: Matlab /Simulink/ Simscape , JAMA, Excel & VBA, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML , MagicDraw & Cameo Modeler.   

Relevant component hardware experience: heat exchangers, pumps/fans/separators/motors/motor controllers, chemical beds, sensors, valves, accumulators 

Experience performing thermal/fluid/chemical analyses

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
