5 years of Quality Control & Product
Safety experience in a manufacturing environment is a must.
5 plus years of previous management
Wet Chemistry
Certification in Six Sigma or related methodology.
Operations experience is preferred along with familiarity in test methodology in us in QC labs.
Job DescriptionThe QC Manager will oversee the quality control processes within the chemistry lab, ensuring that all products meet the required standards and regulations. This role involves managing a team of QC analysts, developing and implementing quality control procedures, and collaborating with other departments to maintain the highest quality standards.
Manage the activities of the QC team, sets priorities. Determine and recommend QC lab equipment/processes/procedures
Conduct Measurement System Analysis Studies (Gage R&R) to determine method R&R and identify methods that have excessive variation. Set up studies to identify sources of variations and eliminate or reduce them.
Recommend meaningful physical and chemical specifications for raw materials and production intermediates.
Test samples, as needed, prior to releasing for mix stock and sending to FDA for repack or original certification. Review FDA specifications and establish assays to be run to assure that manufactured batches will be certified.
Keep this list current to meet changing FDA criteria.
First Pass-Calculate and report out first along with other KPIs established by the food division (ie First Pass, Customer Inquiry, and Proficiency Testing).
Work with associations such as the AOAC and FDA on test methods and regulations.
Leadership and Management:
Supervise and mentor 2 supervisors and their teams of QC technicians.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and laboratory protocols.
Quality Control Processes:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and protocols.
Oversee the testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all QC activities.
