JOB DESCRIPTION

Apex is seeking a dynamic Senior Consultant with strong consultative skills to serve as a Data Scientist. The role is hands-on and intensely focused on developing advanced deep learning models for real-world Generative AI and NLP initiatives. As a NLP Data Scientist, you will be at the forefront of research and development, focusing on the design, implementation, and fine-tuning of NLP models.

RESPONSIBLITIES

Contribute to the design and implementation of NLP models and algorithms that can scale across diverse languages and dialects, taking into consideration the linguistic variations and complexities present in different language communities.

Contribute the exploration and application of Large Language Models and Generative AI, venturing into new areas within these fields.

Develop and maintain NLP pipelines for risk assessment, threat classification, named entity recognition, information retrieval, summarization etc.

Optimize models for running on embedded hardware or scaling model parallelization on the servers.

Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with fine-tuning approaches and training models.

Perform experiments and comparative analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of different model architectures and fine-tune hyperparameters for optimal performance.

Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with internal teams and present solutions to clients.

Demonstrated ability to work in a client-facing capacity, understanding their needs and translating them into technical solutions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor degree in machine learning or alternatively a comparable industry career, with significant experience on delivering products using innovative NLP technologies.

2+ years of hands-on technical experience with extensive background in deep learning networks using TensorFlow, Keras, Caffe, or similar.

4+ years of experience writing and deploying production quality models in languages such as Python.

- Experience working with AWS SageMaker is needed and AWS Bedrock exposure is desired.

- In-depth experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a particular emphasis on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Transformer architectures.

- Innovator who understands the nuances of large language models and in-depth hands-on experience working with llms like GPT, LLAMA, BERT, Transformer-based architectures or other (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) variants.

- Proficient knowledge of NLP techniques, including tokenization, language modeling, and embeddings.

- Experience with distributed training and optimization techniques for l rge-scale machine learning models.

- Experience in Python and/or C and CUDA is a must.

- Having participated in Kaggle or other DL competitions.

- Relentlessly staying on top of the state-of-the-art NLP papers.

- Published research in the NLP field is highly desirable but not specifically required, indicating an ability to not only understand but also contribute to cutting-edge research.

- Having had to deploy a model with aggressive inference speed requirements.
