This is a full-time position with weekend and holiday requirements.Position Summary: This unique department is comprised of small specialty groups of highly skilled experts that support patient care throughout the hospital. Bozeman Health nursing pool is where nurses are scheduled and work in a variety of departments as well as have the opportunity to cross train and support specialty departments. This nursing pool values professionalism teamwork and accountability.The registered nurse is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care patient/family education and transition of care. The RN will function within the Bozeman Health standards of care which include accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communication all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The RN possesses excellent communication skills.Minimum Qualifications:Required

Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)

American Heart Association BLS

Knowledge of electronic health record operating systems

Minimal 2 year experience with inpatient nursing.

Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area. (May include for example TNCC, PALS, ENPC)

Stroke Competency:

Complies with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines related to care for patients with hyperacute and acute stroke

Participates in two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stoke) education within one year of hire

Participates in one hour annually of cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education

Physical Requirements

Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling: Support 50 pounds of weight (patient, assist with bedside needs, etc.) Lift 50 pounds (pick up a child, transfer a patient, etc.) Carry equipment/supplies. Use upper body strength (CPR, physically restrain patient, etc.)

Extended Hours: The role may involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.

Flexible Schedule: The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.

On-Call Availability: On-call work may be required to respond to organizational and patient needs promptly.

Effective Communication: Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies.

Handling Challenging Situations: The role may involve dealing with upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients or families.

Repetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.

ExposuresTasks Include Potential Exposure: Job tasks may involve exposure to:

Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.

Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed

Various chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances.

Infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses

Emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.
